Simple Machine Learning with our Lego Robot

Do your kid's love working with robots and technology?

 

We are excited to offer our Simple Machine Learning with our Lego Robot class. We hope to heal the Digital Divide Hand in Hand we ask you to learn with your child. Using 1st Lego Youth Digital & Pi Raspberry. Your child will be introduced to the wonderful world of Java programming Machine Robotics, & Computer Hardware

 

What will students learn?

Students will practice skill building using the CORE VALUES First Lego League Philosophy while enjoying a great mix of learning and fun creating an amazing Lego Robot.

What is FIRST LEGO League about?

FIRST LEGO League, (FLL) is an international competition[1] organized by FIRST for elementary and middle school students (ages 9 –14 in the USA and Canada, 9 –16 elsewhere).[1] Each year in August, [2]

FIRST LEGO League introduces a scientific and real-world challenge for teams to focus and research on.[3]

 

The robotics part of the competition involves designing and programming Lego Mindstorms robots to complete tasks. The students work out solutions to the various problems they are given and then meet for regional tournaments to share their knowledge, compare ideas, and display their robots. FIRST Lego League is a partnership between FIRST and the Lego Group. It also has a scaled -down robotics program for children ages 6 –9 called FIRST Lego League Jr..

Technology isn’t cheap. Our cost even as a non-profit may give you pause.

Do your kid's eyes light up when given the opportunity to work with technology?
 

Digital Divide will host a Science Technology Engineering Arts & Math group or S.T.E.A.M. group (Powered by Digital Divide).

This group will meet once a week for Graphical or Python Programming with our Code Drones and for FAA Drone Small UAV Racing.

What will students learn?

Simple Machine Learning w our Lego Robot is provided for the Lego team. We will practice skill building using the CORE VALUES First Lego League Philosophy. ​​

Students will be provided with:

 

  • Touchscreen computer or tablet,

  • A First Lego League regulation table & EV3 Robot

  • Battle & Code Drones

  • Drone Race Course (Indoor /Outdoor)

We're thrilled to offer The Drone Academy to kids interested in building, coding, and flying drones. This class will focus on STEM and other academic enrichment.

    • Clifton Heights United Methodist Church, 111 Springfield Rd Clifton Heights Pa.

  • Time

    • 1-2 p.m. for Python programming classes with the Code Drone (Drone PIC HERE)

    • 2:15- 3:15 p.m. FAA Drone Small UAV Racing prep for licensing test.

  • Cost

    • 6 weeks of Minecraft/ Java Programming. –$94 per

    • 1st Lego Robotics _$250 per
